Je ne veux plus y aller maman

I am a journalist at Charlie Hedbo, and on January 7, 2015 I escaped the terrorist attack thanks to a combination of peculiar circumstances. Once the shock wave passed, I had to introspect to give meaning to my life which had been fragmented by this tragedy. Among my murdered comrades was Elsa Cayat, the whimsical psychoanalyst who had a column in the newspaper. We had started a film together, in the form of interviews.

Guided by the reminiscences of Elsa's words, I revisit my history and the reasons for my involvement with Charlie Hebdo. My film is both a sensitive and offbeat quest, questioning the power of images and the essence of the word 'freedom'.
